- Q:Will I be safe if I enter an Essen Health Care medical office?A:Yes, Essen Health Care sites are all following CDC guidelines for safety to protect our patients and our staff. You can expect:
- Masks for all staff and patients
- Touchless check-in for most of our offices
- Patient appointments are staggered to ensure the waiting rooms are not full and social distancing maintained
- Adherence to a rigorous cleaning schedule
- Q:Is a telehealth visit as helpful as an in-person visit?A:Yes, many of our patients prefer a telehealth visit at this time. Our providers are able to speak to you and discuss all of your concerns. If additional care is required, your provider will be available to discuss options for an on-site or specialist visit.
- Q:What if I am not feeling well on the morning/day of my visit?A:If you are not feeling well and are scheduled for a medical non-urgent visit in one of our offices, we ask you to please call the office to either reschedule, or you can call the office to request a switch to a telehealth visit, and your provider will reschedule accordingly. Your telehealth visit can move forward as planned. If you are coming to one of Essen Health Care’s Urgent Care centers (MetroUrgicare), please wear a mask and register at one of our kiosks when you arrive.
- Q:Can I get a COVID-19 test and/or an ANTIBODY test during my visit?A:Yes, all of our urgent care centers can provide you with either test. If you are seeing a specialist and require a test, we will coordinate one with the closest Essen facility.
- Q:When can I expect my COVID-19 or ANTIBODY test results?A:We are currently able to provide your test results mostly within 48-72 hours based on the ability of the lab to return the results back to Essen.
- Q:How do you ensure cleanliness of shared spaces?A:Our offices are cleaned rigorously by following all CDC recommendations. All patient areas are thoroughly cleaned in between patient visits.

Whether you click or call, Essen Care Coordinators will get right back to you, begin monitoring your care right away, and ultimately connect you with the healthcare professional that’s right for you.
- ONLINE FORM / CALL
Contact us via online form, Patient Care Center or your assigned Care Coordinator. If they can handle your issue, they will. Otherwise, they will schedule a ”Virtual Visit” so you can directly connect with a provider from your home. - VIRTUAL VISIT Your provider will manage your problem remotely, order tests, medicines, or make the appropriate referrals, and then schedule a Virtual Visit follow up to check in on your condition, within a day or two.
- IN-PERSON If the provider feels you must have in-person evaluation and care, they will schedule an appointment at one of Essen’s offices or clinics, or schedule a housecall, with a primary provider or specialist.
- OUTSIDE REFERRALIf your provider feels you need to see a provider or specialist not on our staff, or if your situation is an emergency, they will ensure you are referred to the most appropriate care, as quickly as needed.
